Churches Together

St. Mary’s and St Francis’ Churches are  both active members of Churches Together in West Wickham (CTWW), an organisation which brings together all the West Wickham churches in fellowship and faith. Services held in each other’s churches enable us to share our individual worship styles and vision and also give time for discussion and friendship. Each member church elects CTWW Parish Representatives who can vote at the AGM. The clergy members hold some separate meetings and there are at least two open, general meetings per annum.

A Good Friday morning service  is held annually at St. Francis’ church and a reflective ‘An Hour at the Cross’ is held each year at St. Mary’s on Good Friday afternoon. There is provision on Good Friday morning for children’s activities at St. Francis.

The Big Christmas Sing, held on the first Saturday in December each year in support of Christian Aid, is a Churches Together event with choir members from across the whole group. This takes place in St. Francis’ Church and is led by church members from St. Mary’s and St. Francis.

Other events which come under the banner of CTWW include The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and World Day of Prayer. Pentecost is now celebrated with a service on the green outside Emmanuel URC.
